Sing-Along with “Uncle Wayne” and Howling Dog Band at 3 Maui Libraries
“Uncle Wayne” Watkins and the Howling Dog Band, a popular musical quartet for keiki, will perform at three Maui public libraries from Thursday, March 17 through Saturday, March 19. Admission is free.
All young children and especially 2 to 6 year olds, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, are invited to experience an energetic, educational, and entertaining performance by Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band. “Uncle Wayne” Watkins, an Early Childhood educator and children’s advocate, will inspire children to laugh, dance, and sing-along to classic children’s songs as well as his original compositions, accompanied by his Band.
The Maui Friends of the Library and the Kay A. Edwards Memorial Fund are sponsoring these one-hour programs.

Queen Ka’ahumanu Center Queen’s Birthday Celebration
A celebration in honor of Queen Ka’ahumanu’s birthday will be held Friday, March 18, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. A special ceremony will be conducted by the ‘Ahahui Ka’ahumanu Society including oli (chant), pule (blessing), history, hula, mele (song) and draping of lei on the Queen’s statue. Following protocol, falsetto master and Hawaiian music legend, Uncle Richard Ho’opi’i and ‘ohana will perform.

Beginning at 2pm, the Aquarium’s curatorial team will host an interactive presentation at Hammerhead Harbor. Join a knowledgeable marine naturalist and discover fascinating facts about sharks and sea turtles. Go behind-the-scenes and explore the Aquarium lab and discover what it takes to care for the marine animals.
