Humpback Whale Explore Station

Learn about Hawaii’s humpback whales with a marine naturalist at Maui Ocean Center! A special Explore
Station includes samples of what whales eat (krill and herring), baleen (feeding method), whale fluke identification, whale songs, and information about the anatomy and behaviors of humpback whales. Complimentary with Aquarium admission. Appropriate for all ages.

Ti Leaf Lei Demonstration

Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays in February, March, and April

2:00 – 3:00 PM

Visit Maui Ocean Center to learn the art, history, and cultural significance of lei making with a Cultural Practitioner. Includes a hands-on demonstration and a free lei for each participant. Complimentary with Aquarium admission. Appropriate for all ages.

Blue Zones Project is a community wide well-being improvement initiative to help make healthy choices easier in Hawai’i. Chef/owner Jaime Tourin will be demonstrating how to prepare three dishes including Pulled “Pork” Tempeh, Tempeh Coconut Curry, and Maui Tempeh Poke. Recipe cards and free samples will be available while supplies last.
