This holiday season Maui audiences are in for a sweet treat when MAPA presents Nutcracker Sweets, a delightful adaptation of the treasured holiday classic. This whimsical, family-friendly ballet set to the timeless Tchaikovsky score features over 150 MAPA dancers and alumni. $20 adults, $17 students (12 and under) plus applicable facility fees. Montessori School of Maui Holiday Festival

The Montessori School of Maui, located upcountry in Makawao at 2933 Baldwin Avenue, will be opening its campus to the public on Friday, December 7 from 8:30am to 5:00pm to host a Holiday Festival. The school’s PTO is proud to present this annual event featuring crafts, gifts and more, all made in Maui.

Montessori parents and local vendors will come together to share jams and jellies, home baked items, hand-made wreaths, jewelry and other specialty items perfect for gift-giving or adding some holiday cheer to your home. Stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, enjoy the sounds of the season and help support the Montessori School of Maui while ushering in the holiday season. This year, the Montessori School is serving over 240 children from 18 months through 8th grade.

Holiday Celebration in Makawao Town

Makawao Town will be alive with holiday events designed with the children in mind and with the purpose of thanking everyone for their continued support throughout the years. Santa will be at the Library from 10 – 2.  The Friends of the Library will have a book sale at the same time. FREE pony rides from 11:00 to 2:00 across from Aloha Cowboy, and the painting of individual pictures by the children will take place in the Designing Wahine parking lot. Carollers will stroll the streets throughout the day, a magician will be making magic, and we’ll have the Seabury marching band and the Kalama Ukulele group play throughout the day. You can find something for everyone on your gift list in the shops and galleries in Makawao. Come for lunch and stay for dinner at any of our spectacular restaurants, and enjoy a fun filled day in Makawao town.

Hui Holidays: A Celebrated Maui Tradition

A celebrated Maui tradition, Hui Holidays is one of 8 rotating annual exhibitions in the historic, public estate, featuring a wide and whimsical range of artwork and gifts set at accessible prices. Talented members of our local artists’ community create unique work in jewelry, ceramics, prints, fiber, photography, glass and paintings, plus handmade ornaments and much more, with sales supporting the nonprofit visual arts center. Hui Holidays runs from November 19 – December 24, with gallery items evolving each week.

Parent and Child Art Days

Featuring a new Shakespeare-inspired puppet making activity during each class, parent & child will use natural and found objects to create fantastical creatures that will then take on a starring role in a theatrical story-telling adventure. This seminar is sure to create a bonding experience that will create great memories for your child. Each minor must be accompanied by an adult partner. Tuition: $50 ($63 non-member).

Make It & Take It: Unique Jewelry Designs

Just in time for the holidays–this class is for a parent and 5th through 12th grader to take together. Fathers and sons are welcome! Create simple bracelets and necklaces with beads and beach glass, wrapped to highlight the contours of each individual piece. 1 parent & 1 child / teen for the price of just 1 registration.
