Saturday, December 7th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Hospice Maui will host a Holiday Open House Art Event: Expression, Remembrance & Healing through Art.
The entire family is invited to this free, holiday craft program designed to help grieving families and children through the holidays by offering an opportunity for creative expression and healing with art activities.
Grief Counselors will also be on site to offer additional support for anyone who may be dealing with a loss during the holidays.

Holiday Lighting of the Banyan Tree
For the 15th consecutive year Lahaina’s historic Banyan tree will be lit up with thousands of Christmas lights for the holiday season. Lahaina Town Action Committee will host the 15th annual Lighting of the Banyan Tree on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7-8.
Banyan Tree Park will be the centerpiece of this two-day celebration which will run from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. The celebration will include an appearance by Santa Claus and performances by local live entertainment and hula halau. Keiki activities will kick off at 2 p.m. and include cookie decorating, face painting and holiday crafts. Join in the fun as there will be plenty of activities for all members of the family. Art with Heart is a Seabury Hall student-run philanthropy club designed to bring young artists together to creatively collaborate, share original works with the community, and to make a positive difference on both local and global levels.
This year, their first semi annual show is on Sunday, December 8th. The Gallery portion, that features their visually artistic members, begins at 4:00pm, followed by a 5:00pm show in the theatre put together by their talented performance members. The theme for the show is “Inspiration”. “This simple word connects so deeply and differently to people and with the creativity of our team”, says Halia, a member of the Art with Heart team.
The price for Seniors and Students is 10$ and Adults are 12$. Children 5 and under are free. There will also be live music playing throughout the Gallery portion and intermission to enrich the experience. Appetizers will be complimentary and desserts will be for sale. Come out to Seabury Hall’s Creative Arts Center for a great experience and a chance to support young artists.
