Dive into a holly jolly celebration this December at Maui Ocean Center where visions of Scuba Claus, Elf, Candy Cane shrimp, and holiday specials are sure to delight! From exciting presentations and hands-on activities for keiki, to scrumptious holiday treats in the Aquarium’s restaurants and spectacular shopping discounts in Maui Ocean Treasures, there is plenty of yuletide merriment to go around at the Hawaiian Aquarium.

Throughout the month, daily naturalist presentations will highlight Hawaii’s amazing marine animals named for their unique appearances. Learn fascinating facts about the Christmas Tree worm, Candy Cane shrimp, trumpetfish, sea star, Snowflake eel and more. During the 12 Days of FISH-mas, December 14-25, enjoy visits from Scuba Claus (11am) and Elf (3pm) as they host interactive presentations in the Open Ocean exhibit!

Na Leo Lani O Maui Community Choir presents “The Bells Ring Out”

The bells will ring with resounding joy this holiday season! Maui’s favorite Hawaiian community choir, Na Leo Lani O Maui, invites you and your family to join them for their 4th annual holiday concert “The Bells Ring Out” at the historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. Two concerts are scheduled for 2012: Saturday, December 15 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, December 16 at 3:00pm.

Na Leo Lani O Maui has been described as “an inspiration” and any in attendance at their 2011 concert will attest to the amazing feeling one has experiencing the choir’s passion for song, Hawaiian culture and language, and the holiday season. Assigned seating tickets are $20 each, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School Symphonic Band in their effort to raise funds to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City in early 2013. Keiki Martial Arts Demonstrations at Maui Mall

To be held as part of the Mixed Martial Arts Expo December 13-16

Maui Mall is proud to announce its Keiki Martial Arts Demonstrations event at center stage on Saturday, December 15 from 10:00am through 4:00pm. Various keiki groups will showcase their techniques and abilities in boxing, jiu jitsu, muay thai, taekwondo and more. The day will include various performances, giveaways, and Toys for Tots Drive.

Toys for Tots will be on site to accept new and unwrapped toys for children in need. Those who donate a toy will receive a $5 discount on tickets for that evening’s MFC One: A Night of Champions event or Maoli’s CD Release Party on Sunday night. Both will take place at Maui Mall, and are being held as part of the Mixed Martial Arts Expo this weekend.

Maui Choral Arts Holiday Concert: Never Such a Moment

Maui Choral Arts presents its annual winter Holiday Concert, featuring the Maui Concert Chorus of more than 60 singers, conducted by Gary Shin-Leavitt and guest-conductor Bob Wills, joined by the Olinda Chorale and the Baldwin High School Brass Band. The distinctive program blends moving classics such as the Monteverdi Magnificat and Daniel Pinkham’s Christmas Concerto with many seasonal favorites and some unexpected surprises.
