Valley Isle Road Runners’ Christmas 10K and Vineyard Street Mile Races
Valley Isle Road Runners is proud to announce it will be hosting the Christmas 10K and Vineyard Street Mile races at 7:30am on December 14, 2013, starting at the Wailuku Municipal Parking Lot off of Vineyard Street in Wailuku. The 10K course goes up Vineyard Street, then turns right onto Main Street up to Iao Valley Road, to the turnaround at Iao Valley State Park and returns the same way. The Vineyard Street Mile also starts at 7:30am, but turns around at the top of Vineyard to return to the start. Drivers in the area are asked to use caution and be alert for runners on the road from 7:30am to 9:30am. A potluck will follow the race.
Entry in the race is free for Valley Isle Road Runners with active club memberships. The event is also a food drive for the Maui Food Bank, canned goods and monetary donations will be accepted. To join VIRR and register for the race visit www.virr.com. Race number pickup will be on the morning of the race from 6:30am to 7:20am. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and in celebration of the holidays, KKHS student government will again host their 3rd annual Kekaulike Winter Karnival on Saturday, December 14th in KKHS quad/cafe/gym (121 Kula Highway, Pukalani, HI 96768) from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. This free admission event is open to the public! There will be ono food & drinks, live entertainment, jumping castle and super slide, carnival games, kiddie holiday crafts, poinsettia plants, holiday crafts and earrings for sale, pony rides, mechanical bull ride (7pm-9pm), baked goods, and bring your camera & smile to take photos with Santa and his holiday friends (5:30pm-8pm). Please come & support KKHS PTSA, clubs, classes, band, athletics and student government for a night full of holiday cheer! Happy Holidays!
