This unique exhibition showcases the work of nearly 250 Maui youth participating in the Hui’s summer art camps. This exhibition is an explosion of vibrant creativity that shows us all the extraordinary possibilities unlocked by visual arts education.

Keiki Can Learn How to Draw Dragons at Makawao Library
“How to Draw Dragons,” a free Saturday Art Class Program Series, will be offered at Makawao Public Library on August 15 and 29 in the Children’s Section. Children ages 5 through 11, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, are invited to register for these programs which will be presented from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Local Art Teacher Pamela Hayes will conduct the programs and demonstrate how to create artworks about Dragons. All supplies will be provided.
The Maui Friends of the Library is sponsoring this special program series. Reservations are required due to space limitations.
Contact the Library as soon as possible if a sign language interpreter or other special accommodation is needed for these programs.

Join a knowledgeable marine naturalist and discover fascinating facts about sharks and sea turtles. Go behind-the-scenes and explore the Aquarium lab and discover what it takes to care for the marine animals. Children ages 3-12 are invited to a captivating story time followed by a fun ocean-themed craft! Story Time Saturdays are hosted by a marine naturalist and takes place every Saturday at 11:30am in Maui Ocean Center’s Hawaiians and the Sea exhibit.
Talk Story & Hula Lessons with Kahu Dane Maxwell and ‘Ohana

Visitors to Maui Ocean Center will have an extraordinary opportunity to hear from Maui Ocean Center’s Hawaiian Cultural Advisor Kahu Dane Maxwell. At 11:45am, Kahu Dane Maxwell and ‘Ohana (family) will conduct a talk story session and hula lesson at the end of the Open Ocean exhibit tunnel. Schedule subject to change. Appropriate for all ages.

The Lahaina Animal Farm Petting Zoo Tour is a “hands on” experience… feed the animals, fish in our pond, go on a treasure hunt, give the pigs a bath, see where chickens lay their eggs, cheer on a tortoise race, and even ride a horse! The cost is $19 per kama’aina ($25 visitor rate); Keiki under 2 years old are FREE.
