The Explore Science: Earth & Space by Maui Science Center is part of a nationwide celebration of educational programs designed to engage audiences in the awe-inspiring fields of Earth and space science. This exciting event provides an opportunity to connect with current NASA science research and explore Earth and space phenomena.

The Explore Science: Earth & Space event will include exciting science, hands-on activities, and engaging discussion about science and society. Participants will “program” a mars-rover, imagine what extraterrestrial life might be like, investigate magnetic fields, explore light or objects in motion, and much more! These fun activities introduce guests to the ongoing research happening at NASA in the fields of heliophysics, Earth science, planetary science, and astrophysics, and allow them to get hands-on with Earth and space science concepts.

 Makawao Third Friday Town Party: Hauʻoli Lā Honua ~~ Happy Earth Day

 

 Friday, April 20, from 6-9 PM in Historic Makawao Town celebrating the Maui Aina, Hauʻoli Lā Honua ~~ Happy Earth Day.  

Baldwin Avenue is closed from the top of Makawao Avenue down to Brewer Street, where guests joining our M3F block party can enjoy wonderful entertainment, good eats on the street with lots of food trucks, vendor booths, arts and crafts, and the Komoda Keiki Zone this month highlighting Maui’s nonprofit environmental organizations. With plenty of great local shopping and restaurants, this rain or shine free community event is a great time for everyone!

For this month’s special Earth Day celebration, Makawao Merchants Association hosts a “Free Green Zone” inviting non-profit green initiatives to share the mission and message under the green tent in the Komoda Bakery lot.  World renown magician Timothy Wenk ~~ keiki young and old will be dazzled when they experience the wonders of Wenk. Cards, flowers, and rope tricks await the kids and a lucky few will be able to assist in the show. More for the keiki — Crystalline with her fantastic balloon twisting creations, and Shelly Tiss creating her one-of-a-kind artistic face paintings, bubbles, magic, and more!

Blue Line Project 2018

Blue Planet Foundation invites you and your students to join us on Saturday, April 21st to draw the line on climate change from 9AM-Noon for the Blue Line Project—a locally powered movement to raise awareness about the impacts of climate change.
