Aloha Friday! With the increase in COVID-19 cases rising in Hawaii, we want to encourage you to stay vigilant during this time. Practice social distancing, wear masks and avoid large gatherings when you are able. We are lucky to live where cases are so low, so let’s keep it that way, Here are some ideas for the weekend.

Go see the sunrise. 

Did you know the month of July is National Park Month? Take the family to Haleakalā National Park this weekend to explore. The park recently reopened for sunrise reservations and many of the trails are now open. Learn more here.

Plan a Private Workshop.

Friends & Faire in Wailuku is offering private Keiki and adult workshops, great for birthdays or celebrations. Time slots are only available to 8 people max and workshops range from sign making, jewelry stamping, and string art. Learn more here.

Celebrate Maui Museums

The Maui Museum Group (Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum, Lahaina Restoration Foundation, Makawao History Museum, and Maui Historical Society) has launched an initiative to highlight the wonderful and unique diversity and history of Maui County. Through a series of twenty exhibitions themed to four national celebrations and hosted by five museums from across the island, we invite you to join them in celebrating Maui museums. This collection was created in May for National Preservation Month, but they will be kept online for the community to enjoy. Learn more here.

Adopt a kitty.

It’s National Kitten Day! All kittens at The Maui Humane Society aged 3 months to 6 months old have sponsored adoption fees (FREE) today only! They have 30 kittens in this age range and they can’t wait to find forever homes! Look online at available cats for adoption and call 877-3680 ext. 3 for more information! Surfing Goat Dairy is now open for casual tours every Saturday from 11;30am-2pm. While you’re there, pick up one of their Keiki Baskets filled with goodies any child would enjoy and of course their delicious goat cheese and products. Learn more here.
