Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater Les Misérables will be performed for the first time everlive on Maui with a cast of 80 performers and a 25-piece live orchestra. Based on Victor Hugo’s grand tale of love and redemption, the epic musical has thrilled audiences around the world for nearly three decades. The production features former Maui resident and international opera singer James Price as Jean Valjean and local celebrity Jerry Eiting as Inspector Javert.$15-$65.

Join the Maui Electric ohana for a fun day of energy education! This FREE annual community event will feature various live electrical and robotics demonstrations, an electric vehicle display, hands-on energy activities, keiki games, giveaways and more!

A great way for the entire family to learn how electricity works, the fair also showcases the importance of electrical safety, energy conservation and ongoing clean energy efforts.

Additional exhibits will be presented by the Baldwin and Maui High School Robotics teams, JUMPSmart Maui, the County of Maui Department of Water Supply, Save Our Seabirds, First Wind and Sempra Energy.

Maui Mall is celebrating back to school with its Family Sundays event this Sunday, August 25 from noon to 2 p.m. This free event will bring back the popular student recognition and iPad Mini giveaway via teacher nomination. It will also include a Genki Sushi Facial Expression Contest, scavenger hunts and eating contests for both kids and adults and onstage trivia by Read Aloud America – all are opportunities to win lots of prizes.
