Camp Kaluanui: Fall Break 2013

Hui No’eau’s Camp Kaluanui program offers a diverse art curriculum geared to stretch minds, exercise imaginations, and introduce new idea-generating techniques. During each session, our team of teaching artists focuses on a different theme. Campers paint, build, design, dance, sing, and play their way through a balanced variety of artistic activities each day as they explore the artist studios and spacious grounds of the historic Kaluanui estate. Don’t forget your snacks, lunch, and closed-toed shoes! Note: It’s important to us to keep class sizes small, therefore space is limited and pre-registration is required. 5-Day Tuition: $215 ($269 nonmember)+ Supply Fee: $35 Single-Day Tuition: $70 ($88 nonmember) + Supply Fee: $7. Projects may include Deep Sea Nature Mobiles, Life-Sized Nene Wired Wings, Spooky Ceramic Halloween Hollowware, Creepy Crawly Flip Books and more!

Fall Break Drama Camp

October 7-11, Monday – Friday

9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Ages 5-9

Students will learn how to use their bodies, voices and imaginations to create characters and act out stories. The camp will culminate in a fun-filled theatrical performance for family and friends on the final day. $195. No previous experience necessary. Space is limited.

Fall Break Dance Camp

October 7-11, Monday – Friday

9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Ages 6-10

Students will learn dance skills in hip hop, jazz, ballet, stage presence, memorization, flexibility, coordination and teamwork. The camp culminates in a performance for family and friends at Steppingstone Playhouse. Taught by Rebecca Owen. $195. No experience necessary. Space is limited.

Princess Dance Camp

October 7-11, Monday – Friday

9:00 am – 12:00 noon

Ages 3-5

Princesses will be whisked away to the land of fairy tales! Each day you’ll become a different princess and enjoy dancing, stories, activities and crafts. Bring your imagination and your favorite princess gear. Wear tiaras, tutus, tights, ballet slippers if you have them. $125. Space is limited.

Explore the lives of the biggest, hungriest munchers and crunchers of the ocean — sharks, swordfish, mahimahi, tuna and more — through hands-on science investigations, artwork, field trips, games and activities. Field trips include surfing lessons, a visit to Maui Ocean Center, snorkel trip to Molokini and beach play.

Fall Animal Camp

Piiholo Ranch introduces young riders to the joys of riding while building confidence and balance. We teach the fundamentals of working safely with horses, both on the ground and riding. Not only do we cover the proper way to groom, saddle and lead a horse, we have fun doing it.

This is the best way to get one on one time to work on your specific needs through a custom horsemanship program. Students come away with knowledge and confidence with horses. Correct horsemanship skills are instilled throughout the program. Camps are from 9-3 for ages 8 and up.
