Drawing from the A‘ina: Botanical Studies of Maui Nui’s Native Species
Saturdays, 2 weeks
For Ages 8+
May 16 & 23 / 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
In collaboration with East Maui Watershed, this workshop will combine art with conservation science! This class will combine research, observation, drawing, and painting skills as well as provide a chance for students to see their work displayed in a professional art gallery!
Figure Drawing and Painting for Teens
Tuesdays & Thursdays For Age 12+
(2 times per week), 5 weeks
June 23 – July 23 / 9am – 12pm
Students will have the chance to work with pencil, charcoal, pastels, and acrylic paint. This class will take teens to the next level with their art skills, improve self-esteem, and encourage creative self-expression. The class will practice with still life set-ups, drapery, self-portraits, portraits of each other, and a figure model.
Jewelry Designer’s Club: Metalsmithing Rocks!
Thursdays, 6 weeks For Ages 12+
June 25 – July 30 / 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Students will learn the foundational elements of metalsmithing: cutting, drilling, piercing, and soldering metal. Projects include pendants, bracelets, earrings and/or rings. Brass metal will be included with the supply fee and sterling silver will be available for purchase. No previous jewelry class is required!
Ceramics Club: Wheel Throwing & Handbuilding!
Tuesdays, 6 weeks For Age: 10+
June 16 – July 21 / 1:00 – 4:00 pm
Cups, plates, bowls, tiles and more! Students will create their own functional art as they explore the handling of clay using wheel throwing, handbulding, glazing, and texturing techniques. Students will enjoy this muddy, messy, and fun art form!
