How did you come to choose to teach at HTA?

“I am a big fan of technology, and I believe that the HTA Blended Learning model is the future of education. Here, my role is that of learning facilitator where I get to use the latest in pedagogy and technology to help our students achieve success.”

What is the advantage of the Blended Learning model?

“It is a hybrid education where we combine online and face-to-face learning. It offers flexibility and differentiation to all levels and types of learners. At HTA, teachers, families, a.k.a “leaning coaches”, and the community are all equally involved in the child’s education.”

Can students learn math this way?

“Our curriculum is highly rigorous, and teachers offer many opportunities for academic support virtually and in person. Students and teachers are not bound by any normal school hour schedule. Also, we use the latest in online collaborative technology to help the student learn the material.”

What specific technology is utilized at HTA?

“Well, for example, the high-schoolers use OnSync, which is a rich online meeting software that enables the whole class to be “in-class” and to be engaged in the learning. These high school students are offered the use of our HTA state-of-the-art touch-screen laptops to use for all their classes. My students use these to handwrite their solutions to my “Real-Life” math problems using EduCreations. I feel that a lot of my students are doing way more than what they would be doing in a more traditional school.”
