The gardening demonstration is being co-hosted by UH’s Master Gardener Program, an educational outreach program administered by the University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension Service. “Gardening is a wonderful family activity. It’s a great way to teach kids about where their food comes from and encourages trying new fruits and veggies,” says Cynthia Nazario-Leary, the Maui Master Gardener Coordinator. Each participant will have an opportunity to make their own seed pots, plant seeds, learn about the different plants offered, and how to care for their plants at home. All planting materials and refreshments will be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle. RSVPs are highly recommended.
