Focus On What Matters This Holiday SeasonBetween the daily gadgets, after school sports, and other extracurricular activities, the year can be extremely busy and a bit dividing. The holidays offer a perfect time to reconnect with family, take time out from those electronics, and create special memories and traditions.

Here are a few ways to come together as a family during the holidays to create memories and focus on what matters most–family.

Go for a game

Puzzles and other non-tech games, such as Monopoly or old school charades, are all great ways to spend some time as a family and have some fun while the kids are out of school on winter break.

A puzzle is an ongoing activity that you can all do together. Place it on the kitchen table or coffee table for ease of use. We bet the puzzle table will magically make the entire family gravitate towards it and you’ll end up hanging out a lot more as a family during the holidays.

Get crafty!

Glue, sparkles (if you can handle them), and other fun craft items are a great way to spend quality time together and get back to what matters most. You could even make it a rule that each family member has to give another family member one gift that is handmade. Throw everyone’s name into a hat and let each family member choose a name. The person whose name is chosen will be the receiver of the handmade gift. This fun activity is something that’s great for the preschooler or high school child, alike.

Get cooking!

Food is so magical and can really help a family connect during the holidays. Let the kids in on the cooking fun by having every person in the family choose something to cook or bake for a special dinner or on Christmas Eve. Give your little ones some help by narrowing down what they can make. Kids love to cook and we’re sure you’ll have so many great memories to look back on.
