Halloween Carnival at The Maui Mall

Maui Mall is excited to announce its biggest Halloween celebration yet, with the Halloween Carnival on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy:

  • 5:30 p.m. Trick-or-treating throughout the mall:  Participating stores will be identified with balloons on their doors. No early trick-or-treating, please.
  • 5:45 p.m. Maui Cartoon Characters:  Dance with life-sized Hello Kitty, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Winnie the Pooh and Elmo, then take your cameras out for perfect Halloween pictures!
  • 6:00 p.m.  Pet Costume Contest (Must register by before 6 p.m. See below for details)
  • 7:00 p.m.  Keiki Costume Contest (Must register before 6 p.m.  See below for details)
  • Plus – Keiki carnival games and magic with Neil Bruce “The Amazing Stuporman” throughout the night!  First 150 children will receive a free Halloween gift!

Pre-register at Fun Factory in the Maui Mall.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Ghoulin Rouge

On Friday, October 26, the Montessori School of Maui will present its second annual Halloween costume party Ghoulin Rouge, to raise funds in support of the school’s mission.

The theme for this year’s event is “Cirque de Freak” creating the lavish and entertaining environment of a retro traveling circus.  Supporters are encouraged to don their most creative costume and plan for a night of fun, to include great food, drinks and dancing to the music of Valerie the Vibe Goddess.

The event will be from 5:30 to 10:00 at the school on Baldwin Avenue in Makawao.  Tickets are $85 each or private lounges with extra trimmings for parties of ten are available for $1750 or $2500.

Pumpkin Patch Season at Kula Country Farms

October is Pumpkin Patch Season at Kula Country Farms! You and your family are sure to be amazed by the pumpkins and gourds, in all shapes and sizes, for eating, carving, or decorating.

Special events include a scarecrow contest, pie-eating contest, and the famous walk-through corn maze. The farm will also feature Halloween crafts, farm animals, edible goodies, pumpkin carving supplies, and the farm’s usual variety of locally grown produce, plants, and flowers.

Emmanuel Lutheran School’s Pumpkin Festival

Emmanuel Lutheran will be celebrating their 16th annual Pumpkin Festival! The event will run Friday, October 26th, from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm and Saturday, October 27th, from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

There is something for everyone at the Pumpkin Festival.

  • There is a Pumpkin Patch where you can purchase all the pumpkins your family needs
    for the fall holidays.
  • There is a Silent Auction that has great things to bid on. These items typically include: hotel stays, rounds of golf, restaurant certificates, services – like hair cuts, pedicures or manicures, or activities- like luau, whale watches, or snorkeling adventures. There are also Mystery Boxes that contain items from a mystery state.  Along with these there will also be themed baskets put together by each of the classrooms.
  • There are Crafters who will be showcasing their products as well as selling them.
  • There are Game Booths where young and old can play fun games and feel like kids again!
  • There  are Food Booths that sell the most ono kiawe grilled chicken you will ever eat. They also offer kids favorites like hotdogs and nachos. The best part of the Pumpkin Festival is cooling down with a pumpkin smoothie! The band program also will be selling shave ice.
  • There is a Fun House which contains a fun fall themed maze to crawl through!
  • There is a Country Store that is stocked with goodies, made by school families, that are available for purchase.
  • There is a Main Stage and huge tent to sit under and enjoy your food.  On the main stage local groups and musicians entertain all.

NIGHT BEFORE HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST

On Tuesday, October 30, Hula Grill Ka’anapali will offer all costumed customers 25 percent off food during their “Night Before Halloween Costume Contest.” The fun, family friendly Halloween event kicks-off with a keiki costume contest at 6:00 p.m., followed by an adult contest at 7:30 p.m. Contest entry is free.

The first place winner in the adult category will win a deluxe two-person tour aboard Alex Air Maui Helicopter. Second place will win a Skyline Eco Adventures zipline tour for two and third place will win $150 TS Restaurant gift card. The first, second and third place winners in the keiki category will win a $100, $50 and $25 Walmart gift cards, respectively.

The Harvest Festival in Kapalua

Sponsored by Kumalani Church. Offering family friendly game booths, bounce houses, and prizes, kids through 5th grade are welcomed to come dressed as their favorite character and enjoy some small town fun with hotdogs, candy and popcorn to nibble on.
