Mise Matsuri Girls’ Day

March 3 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Mise Kimono Presents “Mise Matsuri”: An Unforgettable Celebration of  Tradition and Community at Queen Ka’ahumanu Center

Mise Kimono, with support from the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center,  is delighted to invite the community to join in the festivities of “Mise Matsuri,” a special event  honoring both the 2nd anniversary of Mise Kimono and the cherished Japanese holiday of  Girls’ Day, known as Hinamatsuri. Taking place at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center on March 3,  2024, from 12pm to 4pm, “Mise Matsuri” promises a day of cultural immersion, entertainment,  crafts, special discounts and fun for all ages.

Attendees will be treated to captivating performances from esteemed local groups, including  Maui Taiko, Maui Minyo Kai, Maui Buyo Dance Academy, Koto performance by Victoria Jacinto  and much more. Their enchanting melodies and graceful movements will transport attendees  to the heart of Japanese tradition, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration.

For the Keiki, “Mise Matsuri” offers an array of engaging craft activities to spark creativity and  imagination. Kids can unleash their artistic talents at the coloring table by Crafts with Alohi,  create their own Kanzashi and Origami at the station hosted by Maui Minyo Kai, and Paper doll  crafts by Friends and Faire. To top it off, participants who complete all four craft areas will receive a stamp from each craft host into their Mise Matsuri Passport booklets. Upon returning their booklets to the Mise Kimono store, they will receive an exclusive 20% discount on their purchase that day—a fantastic incentive to dive into the festivities.

As part of the celebration, Mise Kimono will be dressing Keiki in traditional kimono attire in the  Mise Kimono store. They will be offering free photo-booth pictures, courtesy of Next Level  Entertainment, to capture the special memories of the day. Additionally, guests can indulge in  complimentary cotton candy and popcorn, adding to the joyful atmosphere of “Mise Matsuri.”

“We are thrilled to commemorate our 2nd anniversary alongside Girls’ Day with the  community,” said Shannon Loo, Owner of Mise Kimono. “Mise Matsuri is a celebration of  tradition, culture, and togetherness, and we can’t wait to share this special day with everyone,”  said Chanzen Loo Carroll, Co-Owner of Mise Kimono.

Don’t miss out on the magic of “Mise Matsuri” at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center on March 3rd.  Whether you’re a seasoned enthusiast of Japanese culture or simply looking for a day of  family-friendly entertainment, this event promises an experience like no other.
