Celebrate Prince Kūhiō

Today is a good day to stop by Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center. The 2022 Prince Kūhiō Maui Ho’olaule’a is happening in person, Friday, March 25, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. so there will be plenty of family fun going on. The event is free and open to the public and features free keiki activities, workshops, Hawaiian music and hula. Kalani Pe‘a will be performing with his full band and Hālau o Ka Hanu Lehua and Kumu Hula Kamaka Kukona. Opening ceremonies will be conducted by the haumana and kumu of Ke Kula O Piilani and the event will be hosted by Alakai Paleka.

Support Hawaiian Language Immersion

The 35th Annual Ho’omau 2022 ia a benefit to support Hawaiian language immersion preschool students at Pūnana Leo o Maui in Wailuku. This year’s event will be held at Maui Nui Botanical Garden this Saturday, March 26th from 9am to sunset. This is a can’t miss event for families with crafts, local vendors, cultural demonstrations, a keiki fun zone, and a silent auction. Performances include Kuana Torres Kahele, Nāpua Greig, Josh Tatofi and so much more. If you have never attended this event, it is a wonderful opportunity to learn about our host culture and support Hawaiian language immersion.

Learn Something New about Whales

16th Annual Whale Tales begins Saturday, March 26 through March 27. Registered attendees will have access to an on demand library and keiki corner video resources in addition to the two-day live stream event. At the conclusion of the event, the live stream will be archived and available to watch again in addition to the other content on the website. If you can’t attend this weekend, all content will be accessible for registered attendees until May 27.*
