The Teran James Young Foundation is hosting a fun family event at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Center today from 4 – 7 pm. Live music with Marty Dread, Serne, Gunnison, and more. There will be informational booths as well as keiki activities, art, and games. The Teran James Young Foundation is committed to bringing peace and sustainability in our schools, community, and world by promoting restorative practices, nonviolent communication, and healthy environmental practices.

Dance with Uncle Wayne and the Howling Dog Band

See the Sun at the 2023 Solar Festival

Is it possible to look directly at the sun? What exactly is star stuff? Learn all this and more at the 2023 Solar Festival! Next week, from Thurs., March 16, through Sat., March 18, visit the Headquarters Visitor Center at 7,000 feet to explore methods of daytime astronomy and learn about our closest star. In partnership with the National Solar Observatory, the park will be offering visitors the chance to look through mobile solar telescopes, hands-on sun discovery activities for all ages, and Sun Science Talks from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. All planned activities are outdoors and free to the public with the park entrance fee. No advanced reservations or sign-ups are required to participate.
