Registration Deadline: Tuesday, January 15, 2013

“This Place Matters” is a campaign started by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to get youth involved in the preservation movement. The Friends of Mokuʻula have put a unique spin on this popular campaign for our distinct culture here in Hawaiʻi Nei.

The idea is simple and fun: participants will take a picture, draw a picture, write/compose a mele/chant, or write an essay about a place that matters to them. Get creative!

The idea is to start a conversation in our community, about the past, the future, and how people can work together to define what really matters.

All entries will be added to the Friends of Mokuʻula website and entered in the “This Place Matters” contest.

Selected entries will be added to the 2013 “This Place Matters” calendar that will be distributed in our community.

Hopefully, this has you inspired.

Sharing your story is easy:
