Seabury Hall announces the first annual Seabury Hall-iday: Holiday Lights for Charity event on Friday, December 6th on the school’s Olinda campus. The event begins at 5:00pm with illumination of the Christmas tree at 6:00pm. The event ends at 7:00pm. The event will include a tree lighting ceremony, cocoa and cookies, pictures with surfin’ Santa, stories with Mrs. Claus, winter-ful decorations, and holiday musical performances by school’s band, chorus and Hawaiian ensemble. Head of School Maureen Madden shares, “We are so excited here at Seabury Hall to be hosting this community event to kick-off the holiday season. Our entire school community is working together by decorating our campus in a joyous ‘neighborhood’ competition to raise money for those on Maui who need support. We hope that this will be an opportunity for all of us to be reminded how important it is to spread joy while giving back to the community.” Seabury Hall students will team up to decorate buildings on campus and the public will be invited to vote for their favorite by making a donation to a local nonprofit specially chosen by students and faculty.Proceeds from the vote will go to local nonprofit organization including Friends of the Children’s Justice Center of Maui, Hospice Maui, Ka Hale a Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, Maui Friends of the Library, Maui Humane Society, Pacific Cancer Foundation, and Pono Academy.This family-friendly event is open to the public. Admission is one canned or boxed non-perishable food item for the Maui Food Bank. Seabury Hall is located at 480 Olinda Rd in Makawao. Free parking is available at Oskie Rice Arena located at 521 Olinda Rd.
