MauiWine’s Fourth Annual Holiday Tree Lighting at Ulupalakua

On December 9, families and friends are invited to celebrate the holidays at the Fourth Annual Holiday Tree Lighting on the estate of MauiWine in Ulupalakua, from 4:30 to 8:30 PM. The cool, crisp and frosty air paired with the lush vegetation, ranch animals and giant towering trees that are more than 100 years old, make Ulupalakua the perfect place to get bundled up, be merry, and enjoy the holiday season with loved ones.

Admission is free but attendees are requested to bring a can of non-perishable food as a donation to the Maui Food Bank. The holiday festivities are guaranteed to be a memorable experience with plenty of complementary activities to enjoy, including:

  •      Lighting of a 20-foot Monterey pine holiday-decorated tree from Kula Botanical Gardens
  •      Live music entertainment
  •      Screening of “Home Alone” movie under the stars.
  •      Family and keiki photos in front of the holiday tree with Santa Claus
  •      Pinecone decorations and letters to Santa activities for keiki
  •      Sparkling toasts, pineapple, and estate wine tastings inside the King’s Cottage

MauiWine will also open the doors to the Old Jail to offer an exclusive, elevated experience for guests to savor its special release wines. The Old Jail, built in the 1850s, reopened last year after a year-long historical restoration. Also, warm holiday beverages and comfort food by Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill will be available for purchase.

The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with the lighting of the holiday tree after sunset, followed by the movie under the stars. The movie will be showcased under the 80-foot colossal camphor tree. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and low-back lawn chairs.

MauiWine is open daily from 10 AM to 5:30 PM offering tastings inside the King’s Cottage, a former retreat built for King David Kalakaua. Complimentary historical tours of the estate and the cellar begin at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM.
