MAUI POPS ORCHESTRA’S “Winter Pops”
Sunday, February 23, 2020 3:00 p.m.
Featuring Keola Beamer with Moanalani Beamer

Under the direction of Jim Durham, the 50+ member Maui Pops Orchestra is pleased to once again present an afternoon of great music with featured guests Keola & Moanalani Beamer performing with the orchestra. Winner of multiple awards, Keola Beamer is a Hawaiian legend: singer-songwriter, composer, guitar master, with an impeccable, gorgeous style that is featured on The Descendants soundtrack and his 17 CDs. Recently inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame, Keola was one of the first to use Hawaiian slack key techniques to create contemporary music that is also at home on the concert stage. His wife Moanalani Beamer joins Keola with her beautiful hula and the exquisite sounds of traditional Hawaiian instruments. The concert will be a sumptuous mix of Keola’s compositions, traditional Hawaiian music and several pieces featuring the orchestra alone. Sunday, February 23rd at 3:00 PM in the Castle Theater at the MACC.
