Keiki Fest 2011

Help us celebrate our Keiki! A day dedicated to our most precious gift!

The 2011 Valley Isle Keiki Fest will be held at the Great Lawn of the University of Hawaii- Maui College, on Saturday, April 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  This annual event promotes a positive, safe and healthy environment for Maui’s Keiki.  Keiki Fest promises lots of fun activities for all ages and almost everything is FREE!

Each year, April is designated as “The Month of the Young Child,”.  In 2010, this joyful event attracted over 7,000 people, about half of which were children, to enjoy a day together without spending much money.

In addition to the “onolicious” food in the Pa’ina Building, conjoined organizations have arranged cooking demonstrations and a fashion show by the 4‐H youngsters, resources for parents, and even a Classic Car show.  However, there is much more in store for the Keiki—bouncing castles, Keiki Zone, demonstrations, Vision Screening by Wal-Mart, and the Maui Fire Department will provide Keiki I.D. cards.  Returning to the Keiki Fest will be the bicycle safety challenge, where youngsters and parents can learn the importance of bike safety. There will be entertainment on the stage from live music, to Keiki hula dancers to the heart stomping Taiko drummers.  There will be vendors, crafters and informational booths galore!  Admission to the Keiki Fest is FREE.

The Kiwanis Club of the Valley Isle, 4‐H Maui, Neighborhood Place of Wailuku, Hawaii Association for the Education of Young Children (HAEYC) Maui Chapter, and most recently the County of Maui – Department of Parks and Recreation, have all associated efforts in the Keiki Fest celebration.  They are fortunate to have the support of the University of Hawaii – Maui College.

See you on Saturday, April 9th, at the 2011 Valley Isle Keiki Fest!
