Wednesday, March 25th marked the start of the “Stay at Home” order made by Mayor Victorino which will run until April 30th. A 14-day quarantine for all arrivals also began and school closures were extended to April 30th. As we hunker down in our homes for the safety of our island community, we’re sharing the Herculean efforts made by people and organizations during this challenging time.

Find a Farmer! If you’re interested in supporting local farms, find a farm near you on this great list. Each vendor varies in offerings from CSA boxes, online ordering, farm pick-up or delivery.

There are many amazing groups heeding the call to make protective masks in response to shortages on the island. Within two days The Maui High Quality Face Mask Fund reached its goal of $20,000 to sew medical-grade masks. If you’re interested in volunteering, email Julie at [email protected].

Dance class in your home! Alexander Academy of Performing Arts is holding live online classes starting March 30, 2020. Classes are in ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical jazz, hip hop, musical theater, pointe for ages 3-adult. Did you know you can now take a 3-D Virual Tour of Iolani Palace? The online tour allows visitors to roam through the building beyond the stanchions, climb the majestic koa staircase, and see remarkable artifacts on display on your computer or mobile device.

Maui Huliau Foundation programs are going virtual in April and May. Follow their Instagram or Facebook pages for a lineup of virtual projects for April including a meme contest, weekly challenges, youth discussion groups and more. They also have a great YouTube channel with student films to explore.
