4th of July Celebration and Fireworks Display

Stroll historic Lahaina and enjoy holiday specials in many ocean view restaurants and town shops. For an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration, listen to a variety of bands play in a free concert on the oceanfront Lahaina Library lawn starting at 5 pm. A fireworks display lighting the night sky over Lahaina’s roadstead is scheduled for 8 pm. Fireworks can be viewed from charter boats in Lahaina Harbor and on land throughout Lahaina Town. Enjoy an afternoon of great fun, food, shopping, entertainment and more, followed by a spectacular sunset and a fireworks celebration.

The 2012 Maui Invitational Music Festival presents July Fourth Concert in the Park outdoors on the Lahaina Library Lawn. Featuring the Maui Community Band and special guests performing local and holiday favorites. A spectacular fireworks display follows.

 

The Wharf’s 4th of July Karaoke Contest

Wharf Cinema Center, Lahaina

Adult and children’s registration begins at 4pm. At 5pm, the “Queen of Karaoke”, Toddy Lilikoi takes the stage to emcee the Karaoke contest. At 5-6pm, contestants under 18 years of age start off the evening. At 6pm, Adults get a chance to have fun and win lots of “sur-prizes” till the contest is “all pau”. Contestants should bring their “network” along for support to help judges out.

 

4th of July at Whalers Village in Kaanapali

Cultural hula lessons, from 12-1 pm. Stop by with the kids for a Face Painting session, 2-3 pm, and delight your loved ones with festive sparkles on your cheeks. And do you remember believing in magic? Brenton Keith & His Bag O’Tricks, who has been astonishing Hawai‘i for over ten years with high-energy magic and comedy, from 3:30-4:30 pm. It’s wild performance art at its finest, with sleight-of-hand and impeccable timing, guaranteed to evoke many laughs. You can’t help but wonder: “But what, really, is inside Magic Brent’s bag?”

 

Makawao 4th of July Parade and Rodeo

Parade: Saturday, July 7 from 9:00am-12:00pm in Makawao Town

Parade starts at lower end of Baldwin Avenue, goes up to Makawao Avenue and ends at Eddie Tam Center. Colorful Hawaiian Style Wild West Parade, complete with Rodeo Royalty, Beauty Queens, foliage draped Pa’u Riders, Classic Cars, decked-out Cowboys & Cowgirls, music & floats competing for coveted trophies. There will be NO PARKING in town. Parking at the Oskie Rice Arena Rodeo Grounds and take the FREE SHUTTLE to the parade from 7am-9am, and back to Rodeo Grounds beginning at 11:30 am. Public restrooms will be available at Eddie Tam Center, porta potties at parking lot of Komoda’s Store. For Parade information, please call 572-9565.

Rodeo: Saturday, July 7 and Sunday July 8 at 1:00pm at Oskie Rice Arena in Olinda

Rodeo includes bull-riding, team-roping, calf-roping, bronc riding, mugging, barrel racing, break-away. Live band after Rodeo on Saturday.  Rodeo admission is $15 adults, $10 seniors and students, $5 kids.  For Rodeo information, please call 283-2741
