Year of the Rabbit Celebration

Maui Mall Village will ring in the Lunar New Year on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 10 a.m., with a martial arts demonstration at Center Court, followed by a traditional Chinese lion dance performed by Saam Fu Chinese Cultural Arts! Community members and visitors are invited to enjoy this free, family-friendly event to help celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit.

Colorful and thrilling lions will dance their way to Maui Mall Village shops, restaurants and businesses. The lions will be fed donations in red envelopes, known as lai see (lucky money), believed to bring prosperity to the giver throughout the year.

Saam Fu Chinese Cultural Arts is known to provide exciting lion dances at a wide array of special events throughout the islands. Its mission is to share Chinese culture and promote internal and external health through traditional martial arts, lion dance, and other culture-related programs.

While at our Lunar New Year celebration, grab a bite to eat at one of Maui Mall Village’s many restaurants. You can also visit the center’s diverse lineup of stores and businesses.
