On Easter Sunday, April 1st, Imua Family Services will host the first annual Color Festival Hawaii. Color festivals originated in India and are an ancient traditional festival which celebrates inclusion and diversity of life along with the arrival of spring and the passing of winter.  In recent years, Color Festivals have spread around the world, from New Zealand, to Europe and the United States, and have evolved into music festivals and include the throwing of powdered colors.

Color Run 5k races have also gained in popularity. Imua’s Color Festival promises to be an exciting and unique island event with great bands, DJ’s and live performers suitable for the whole family.

Admission for children 5 & under is free. This family-friendly fun event will take place at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center from 1:00 – 5:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale at MACC box office on February 1st.

Hawai’i’s first annual Color Festival celebrates the color & diversity of life with great music, star-studded entertainment, dancing, and  fun for the whole family.

The Festival of Colors is the modern American version of a traditional Holi Festival, celebrated every spring in India. It is a celebration of the victory of good over evil and of the arrival of spring and harvests to come. In the spirit of inclusion, celebrating the beauty of diversity and the uniqueness of each and every child, the spectacular and colorful explosion of the Color Festival Hawai’i event will feature energetic, nonstop, live music for dancing from
DJ Boomshot, Eric Gilliom and Band,
 Shea Butter & The Cream,
and Yum Yum Beast.

Also enjoy special guest performances from singers, actors, and stage celebrities, Teal Wicks and Matt Doyle, all leading to the moment the entire audience participates in the throwing of colors!
Enjoy some of Maui’s best food trucks and sweet treats as well. The message behind a color festival is “inclusion,” that we are all under the same one rainbow, living and celebrating life together.
Imua Family Services is proud to bring to Maui the Color Festival Hawai’i as a fundraiser and a friend-raiser, a family-friendly gathering, and a place for all children to be included.
