5th Annual Maui County Ag Festival

On April 7, 2012, the annual Maui County Agricultural Festival celebrates once again agriculture’s vital role in the economy, environment, and lifestyle of Maui. Held on the lü‘au grounds of Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapü and in its fifth year,Maui’s prime event to raise awareness about local agriculture on Maui invites Maui to talk story with the people who grow our food and their industry allies, to discover what agriculture means to our communities and ‘āina. Hosted by Maui County Farm Bureau in partnership with the County of Maui, Office of Economic Development the festival provides the one-stop experience of the wondrous impact of agriculture in our day-to-day life. Perfect for families, parents and children will enjoy the Victory Farm to see what Maui grows, the Grown on Maui Farmers Market featuring 50-plus farmers, entertainment at the center stage, keiki zone with arts & crafts, Kula Country Farms is sponsoring the Easter Egg Hunt, vegetable planting, face painting, horseback rides, tram rides, and new this year, Whole Foods Market brings its Whole Foods Keiki Kitchen to Ag Festival. This is a chef-lead activity station where kids (moms and dads too!) will learn how to make healthful meals or snacks.  Registration will be available on sign by age groups. Thereʻs also a tent devoted toag education in the classroom. Parents, educators and Maui youth learn more about the fun, educational opportunities in schools island wide.
