Hui No Ke Ola Pono’s 2nd annual ‘Aha Mauliola – A Native Hawaiian Wellness Gathering will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2019 on the University of Hawai‘i Maui College Campus from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

This event is sponsored by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, working to improve the lives of Native Hawaiians, from whom they were awarded a $6,000 ‘Ahahui Grant. Also sponsored by UHMC, Papa Ola Lōkahi, HMSA, Kaiser Permanente, Matson, Blue Zones Project Hawai‘i and Hawai‘i Petroleum.

The event will include speakers on environmental stress, diabetes education, women’s health, elderly dementia and caregiver care, advance care planning and end-of-life care; as well as cultural workshops on basic lomilomi massage and BEMER therapy.

The event will also feature ‘ono food, crafts, informational booths, a passport game for adults, health screenings, free dental services (exams, x-rays, fluoride, sealants and temp fillings) for keiki 0-17, and a keiki corner with Makahiki games, old school games and activities with goodie bags for participants. Also look out for a silent auction, photo booth contest, and entertainment from Hot Lava Dancefit, ‘Ahumanu, Hālau Ke’ala Kahinanao O Puna, and Nevah Too Late.
